Calvin Woodland, Jr. - CEO
Mr. Woodland is a native Washingtonian and is a product of D.C. public schools.
Woodland, 60, began his civic responsibilities in the office of Councilmember
Jim Graham where he worked for over 20 years. Upon Mr. Graham’s death Mr. Woodland obtained employment with Dept. of Behavior Health were he holds a position as Community Outreach Coordinator. He is former Chairman of Ward I Democrats and has served four terms as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner.
A 2000 Washington Post article reflected on his rocky past, his accomplishments and his future endeavors. Mr. Woodland currently also serves as CEO of the Calvin Woodland, Sr. Foundation, which serves underprivileged families in Ward 8 and surrounding areas.
Dr. King’s dream influenced the political path that Calvin followed and helped shape the man he is today.

Mary Blount - Director of Operations
Mary “Tywannda” Blount currently works as the Director of the Calvin Woodland Sr. Foundation, where she helps develop programs to help inner-city youths as well as families in Ward 8 and surrounding areas. In 2015, Mrs. Blount was honored for Community Cornerstone Award from “Anita Bonds” and in 2019; she was awarded Outstanding Performance for Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) 40th Year Anniversary. Mrs. Blount is a retired federal employee from Dept. of Army with over 30 years of service. She is a native Washingtonian, reared in Ward 8 and surrounding areas and has worked tirelessly with youth and their families. She is a wife/mother/grandmother and has helps raise several other children as well. Mrs. Blount continues to teach our youth of Washington, DC while collaborating with Dept. of Employment Services "Work Readiness Skills" and has had an impact in 100's of children lives through her teachings and love. Mrs. Blount has chosen to share her experience, strength and hope with youths and their families and her motto has been “if you help one and that one helps one then we have made a difference.”

Devonaline Yates – Board Director Treasurer
Devonaline Yates is a native Washingtonian, married with two children and five grandchildren. She worked in the beauty industries for over 40 years, where she helped women to not only look better, but also feel better about themselves. Being a teen MOTHER herself, and knowing how hard it was she has devoted her time and attention to helping young girls. She is dedicated to helping youths discover a better quality of life, through nurturing, while encouraging them to higher education. She is a hard worker for her church, where she teaches and head the discipleship ministries. She has dedicated the past 10 years working to help educate and teach youth of Washington DC area "Work Readiness Training with the CWSF, while encouraging our youth to love themselves.

Joanesha Joseph – Secretary
Ms. Joseph is a former Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment (MBSYEP) participate. She wanted to give back to an organization that gave to her. She wanted to use her skills and education while increasing the company value and maximizing profit by improving the operational efficiencies and maximum utilization for available resources.

Vernessa Richardson – Board Member
Vernessa Richardson is the eldest of nine siblings. She attended DC public school and has lived in the metropolitan area for over Fifty (50) years. She is married and a mother of four, as has 6 grandchildren. She is a certified nurse asst. and dedicated to her patients as well as her job. She loves volunteering and volunteers for VA Medical Center along with so many others. Mrs. Richardson has dedicated her love and guidance for our youth and for the past 7 years while working with Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) through the foundation teaching Work Readiness and looks forward every summer to working with MBSYEP

Charles Johnson – Board Member
Charles Johnson has dedicated his life to helping inter-city youth while mentoring young men on the pitfalls of drugs, jails, and institutions. Mr. Johnson is a Washingtonian and has lived in Ward 8 for over 50 years. Mr. Johnson helped establish the Calvin Woodland Sr. Foundation (CWSF) in 2000 after the death of his friend and mentor (Calvin, Sr.) He continues to work with the CWSF daily always eager to see progress with the youth of Ward 8 and surrounding areas.

Tiffany Brown – Events Coordinator/Program Coordinator
Mrs. Brown was born and raised in the Prince George’s County area and she is a DCPS teacher, wife and a mother of 4. Mrs. Brown is always coordinating cheerleader practices, volleyball practices and basketball outings with her children and wanted to help with the CWSF events. She helped facilitate the MBSYEP Zoom Platform for the past two summers and was very instrumental with the training of the youth.

Darryl Riddick – Fundraising Coordinator
Daryl S. Riddick was born and raised in the Washington DC areas. His family later moved to Clinton, Maryland, where he attended PG County Public Schools and received his high school diploma. After high school, Reverend Riddick attended Elizabeth City State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics. He later enrolled in Cambridge College and received a Master’s Degree in Management. Daryl Riddick has been working in the Capitol Heights Community for over 18 years. During those years he has been on the frontline serving the community through various activities such as food distributions, financial assistance, housing assistance and also school supplies and volunteer work at the elementary and high schools in the community.
